At rpwax.com our focus is on high quality rapid prototyping (rp) parts and models. Previously we owned and operated the Invision HR 3D rp printer. Although the Invision HR was able to produce many models in a short time the quality was inconsistent and the dependability of the machine was low. Despite numerous claims the Invision HR models can not be directly cast with consistent acceptable results.

After considerable research and testing we found the Solidscape Patternmaster, the Solidscape T66 benchtop and the Solidscape T612 machines to deliver the highest quality rp models available. Additionally they are the only rp machine proven to delivery clean and crisp direct castings while outperforming milling machines by building models with undercuts, fine wires and hollow areas. Click Here to see a series of additional actual pictures showing the excellent casting ability. The one drawback of the Solidscape series of rp machines is that the build time is long. Above you can see an actual rp jewelry model taken through the casting process. The first picture shows the small and detailed rp jewelry wax greatly magnified . The second pictures shows the same rp jewelry wax after the direct investment casting process using 14k white gold. The rings in picture two were also direct cast from our in house rp machine. Notice how crisp even the unfinished casting is. In the third picture the casting has been removed from the casting tree and simply tumble polished. The last picture shows the final 14K white gold head after polishing.

Neither cnc milling, the Invision Hr by 3D Systems nor the Perfactory by Envision can make models this detailed that will give you these high quality cast results.
